Hilltown Community Health CenterNews

Huntington, MA – Hilltown Community Health Centers’ School Based programs – Gator Grins and Gateway School Based Health Center (SBHC) – are in full swing!

Gateway Regional School Based Programs, operated by Hilltown Community Health Centers, Inc. have started seeing students for the 2016/2017 school year, and both offices are now conveniently located in Gateway Regional High School. This will make it easier to ask questions, get paperwork and return necessary paperwork in one location.

Gateway School Based Health Center is available to be your child’s primary care provider, to give immunizations, physicals, treat earaches, sore throats, asthma, playground mishaps, and to address most of your child’s health care needs. Gateway School Based Health Center works closely with the parents of each student. The School Based Health Center also has a Behavioral Health Specialist to address any mental health needs that may arise.

Gator Grins, the school based dental program provides comprehensive dental exams, x-rays, dental cleanings, fluoride varnishes, dental sealants, amalgam fillings, (silver fillings) composite fillings, (white fillings) and emergency dental care. All enrollment forms for the school based programs were sent home at the beginning of the school year with your child. If you did not receive an enrollment form for either of these programs, you may access them in the following ways: by calling (413) 667-0142, or 667-3009 Ext: 239, you may stop by the Gateway School Based Health center, you access them online at hchcweb.org/sbhc. They are also available at both Hilltown Community Health center sites in Huntington and Worthington, as well as located on the Gateway Regional School District website under “quick links”.

The Gator Grins dental program is available Monday through Thursday 7:30-3:00 and runs clinic hours Tuesdays and Thursdays 8:00-3:00. Once your child is enrolled in the Gator Grins program, we will take care of all your child’s dental needs. After your child is seen they will come home with a services rendered form which tells you what was done on that day.

The mission of the Gateway School Based programs are to save parents time and money by having their child seen for medical and dental appointments in a comfortable environment right at their school. This eliminates extended time away from class room learning, and the need for parents to take time off from work when having to drive to a doctor or dental appointment.

Gateway School Based Health Center and Gator Grins dental outreach program will attend all open houses to answer any additional questions.

No Gateway Regional School District funds are used for these programs.
