Are you looking to make connections with other parents and help your child resolve everyday conflicts and get along with others? The Hilltown Family Center will host the “Raising a Thinking Child” parent education program, beginning in February.  Taking great care of children is possibly the most difficult endeavor known. With support, encouragement, respect, and humor, adults can succeed in this wonderful effort. This is an evidence-based series with demonstrated success in providing parents and caregivers of young children tools to improve their children’s social and emotional skills.

The Hilltown Family Center provides access to locally available comprehensive services and supports that strengthen families and promote optimal child development, including free play-to-learn and school readiness groups, Welcome Baby visits, Ages and Stages Questionnaires, Home Visits, the Rise and Read take-home book bag program, and child birth and family education.  Programs are made possible through the Coordinated Family and Community Engagement Grant from the Massachusetts Department of Early Education and Care through the Hilltown Community Health Centers, in collaboration with the United Way of Hampshire County and Brain Building in Progress.

Parents and caregivers will meet at the Hilltown Community Center at 9 Russell Road in Huntington on Wednesdays, February 19th, 26th, March 4th, 18th, 25th and April1st from 10-12.  This series is free and open to all caregivers and parents. Childcare and light refreshments will be provided. Families will take home the Raising a Thinking Child workbook.  To register, please contact Susan LeBarron at 413-667-2203 ext. 311 or slebarron@hchcweb.org.
