Hilltown Community Health Center Receives Three-Year United Way Grant- May 2019

United Way of Hampshire County has announced that it has awarded Hilltown Community Health Centers (HCHC) $60,000 to fund its Hilltown Collaborative for Children and Families over three years.

The Hilltown Collaborative for Children and Families (HCCF) provides children and families with coordinated and comprehensive family support services.  It addresses families’ needs from pregnancy until a child begins school. Hilltown Community Health Centers’ Family Support programs do this through parenting and wellness workshops, Brazleton Newborn Behavioral Observation home visits, support groups, individual counseling and consultations and playgroups for children, parents and grandparents.  The program, housed at HCHC’s Hilltown Family Center in Huntington, is a collaboration with It Takes A Village, a nonprofit located in Cummington, MA.  It Takes A Village is a grassroots organization that provides weekly home visits  from a volunteer to help with baby care, cleaning, running errands and more.

The program expects to serve 275 individuals in its first year of funding.
