Prescription Refills

Routine Prescription Refills

If you need your routine prescriptions refilled, please call your pharmacy and they will electronically send or fax a request to the health center for your medications. It’s important to call your pharmacy at least 48 hours before your medication runs out in order to allow our staff enough time to prepare and send your prescription to the pharmacy.

If for some reason the pharmacy has requested a refill and they have not heard back from the health center within 48 hours, please call our office so that the request can be processed.

If your provider is out for more than 48 hours, your request will be sent to the covering provider at HCHC. Please note the request will be sent into the pharmacy as a 30/90 day prescription with no refills.

If you run out of routine medications, please call the health center and we will send the prescription(s) to your pharmacy as soon as possible, if the refill is appropriate.

Controlled Substance Prescriptions

Please call the health center at least 48 hours prior to your due date and give your name and dosage directions to our receptionist who will then forward your request to your provider.

If you call for your controlled substance prescription and your provider is out for more than 48 hours, your request will be sent to the covering provider at HCHC. That provider has a choice to either give you enough medication until your provider returns to the office or he/she may fill the prescription for the full 28 days.
