What’s New

Welcome to Hilltown Community Health Center’s inaugural newsletter!!! In an effort to communicate better with you, we will be sending out this newsletter every quarter to share more about who we are, what we do, and how we can serve you! It’s Community Health Center Week!

Every August, the National Association of Community Health Centers (NACHC) sponsors National Health Center Week (NHCW) to celebrate and increase awareness of America’s 1,400 Community Health Centers (CHCs). CHCs serve as a beacon of strength and care in their communities and are a vital source of health care services in areas that may have few resources.

Hampshire County residents are lucky to have Hilltown Community Health Centers in our region. The HCHC clinics in Amherst, Huntington and Worthington, along with a school-based site in Huntington, have been providing high-quality health care services to the community for more than 70 years. Each year our dedicated staff serve over 8,000 patients with 36,000 visits from 150 zip codes.

This year’s National Health Center Week theme focuses on empowering communities by connecting them with health centers. At HCHC, we are committed to delivering patient centered, culturally responsive healthcare to all members of our community regardless of ability to pay

Celebrate the uniqueness of your community and get to know those dedicated to lasting partnerships!

One Story at a Time

Finding Support When It Was Needed Most

When news stories about potential Medicaid cuts began circulating, one patient became anxious about whether she would lose her health coverage. Unsure where to turn, she reached out to Hilltown Community Health Center for help.

Health Access Navigator Buliah Mae Thomas took the time to answer her questions, review her coverage, and help her understand her options. As they talked, it became clear that the patient was also facing challenges beyond insurance. Community Health Worker Carolina Kenny stepped in to connect her with resources and support to address those barriers. By working together, Buliah Mae and Carolina helped turn fear and uncertainty into reassurance and a clear path forward. The patient left knowing her coverage was secure and that she had a team ready to support her every step of the way.

Your Gift Changes Lives

At Hilltown Community Health Center, we believe everyone deserves access to high-quality health care, regardless of income, insurance status, or where they live. We serve thousands of individuals and families

Your Gift Opens the Door to Care

When someone walks through our doors, they are more than a patient-they are a neighbor, a parent, a child, a veteran, a senior, or a family working hard to stay healthy despite life’s challenges. At Hilltown Community Health Center, we believe that everyone deserves access to compassionate, high-quality health care, regardless of their income, insurance, language, or where they live.

Every day, our dedicated team provides primary care, behavioral health, dental services, nutrition and weight management, chronic disease management, preventive care, and patient navigation that helps people overcome barriers such as transportation, insurance, food insecurity, and access to essential resources. We care for thousands of individuals across our rural communities, ensuring that no one has to choose between their health and their financial stability. Your generosity makes this possible.

When you give to Hilltown Community Health Center, 100% of your donation goes directly to patient care. Your gift helps provide essential medical services, expand access for those who need it most, and ensure that every patient receives the compassionate care they deserve. Whether your contribution helps a child receive preventive care, supports an older adult managing chronic illness, or connects a family to life-changing health resources, every dollar creates healthier people, stronger families, and more vibrant communities.

Together, we can ensure that quality health care remains close to home for everyone.

Please consider making a gift today. Every dollar matters. Every patient matters. Every gift changes a life.
