Gateway School Based Health Center and Gator Grins Dental Outreach Program are ready for the 2018-2019 school year!

Hilltown Community Health Centers’ School Based programs, Gator Grins and Gateway School Based Health Center are in full swing!

Gateway Regional School Based Programs, operated by Hilltown Community Health Centers, Inc. have already started seeing students for the 2018/2109 school year, and both offices are conveniently located in the Gateway School Based Health Center space. This makes it easier to ask questions, get paperwork and return necessary paperwork in one location.

Gateway School Based Health Center is available to be your child’s primary care provider, to give immunizations, physicals, treat earaches, sore throats, asthma, playground mishaps, and to address most of your child’s health care needs.  Gateway School Based health center works closely with the nurses and parents of each student.   Gateway SBHC also has two behavioral health specialists to address any mental health needs that may arise, and a nutritionist who is also a diabetes educator.

Gator Grins the school based dental program provides comprehensive dental exams, x-rays, dental cleanings, fluoride varnishes, dental sealants, amalgam fillings, (silver fillings) composite fillings, (white fillings) and emergency dental care.  All enrollment forms for the school based programs are sent home at the beginning of the school year with your child or they may have been given to you during the middle school orientation.

If you did not receive an enrollment form for either of these programs you may do so in the following ways, by calling (413) 667-0142, or 667-3009 Ext: 239, you may stop by the Gateway School Based Health Center, you can go online at hchcweb.org and print out the enrollment form and they are available at both Hilltown Community Health center sites in Huntington and Worthington as well as located on the Gateway Regional School District website under “quick links”. You may also print out the forms and F ax them directly to The Gateway School Based Health Center at 413-667-0145.

Gator Grins dental program is available Monday through Thursday 7:30-3:00 and runs clinic hours Tuesdays and Thursdays 8:00-3:00.  Gator Grins runs on Tuesdays when operating in Chester Elementary. Gateway SBHC is open Monday-Friday 7:30-3:00 during school hours.

The mission of the Gateway School Based programs is to save parents time and money, by having their child seen for medical and dental appointments in a comfortable environment right at their school.  This eliminates extended time away from class room learning, and eliminates the need for parents to take unnecessary time off from time off from work.

No Gateway Regional School District funds are used.

If you have any questions about either of the programs you can contact us (Gator Grins and Gateway School Based Health Center) (413)667-0142 Fax:  (413) 667-0145 or kcooper@hchcweb.org.
